Product functionality
EZ-OUT is installed as a new printer. Using settings that you define, the software
detects which of the documents in a print job are to be sent by email,
converts those documents to PDF files, routes them to your email server, and
sends them as email messages to your customers. The default driver you normally use for
printing on paper will be used for all other documents.
Previous versions of EZ-OUT converted documents to image files with PNG
format. EZ-OUT 2-2 converts them to PDF 1.2 format. Acrobat Reader 3.0 or later
is needed to view these files. You can
download Acrobat Reader free of charge.
Prerequisites
EZ-OUT is compatible with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 4, Windows 2000 with
Service Pack 2, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.
You must have online Internet access to use EZ-OUT in its default email connection mode.
If you configure EZ-OUT to send email via your email server, you must have online access to your SMTP email server.
Refer to EZ-OUT Help for more information about email connection.
Contact your system administrator if you require more information about your mail server system.

Configuring EZ-OUT

Known limitations
- Programs that print images instead of text cannot be processed correctly by EZ-OUT and will always be sent directly to the printer.
- When installing the current version of ReadSoft EZ-OUT on a computer that uses a language other than English, a dialog may inform you that the DLL file
unidrvui.dll already exists, but in another language. You are asked if you wish to replace your existing file with the new one.
If you see this message, replace the file. Otherwise, ReadSoft EZ-OUT may not work properly. Note: Replacing the file causes other printers using unidrvui.dll to display their printer properties in English
- Certain applications print glyph indices rather than the actual text they represent. If you send print jobs to ReadSoft EZ-OUT from such applications, the resulting email text looks like random characters. However, such applications are very uncommon and are unlikely to be used in a production system.
- On some Windows XP systems, an error message ("ikernel application error") is displayed when the installation completes. This error is not critical and does not mean that the installation has failed. For more information about the problem and how to resolve it, see http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?pcode=ALL&articleid=Q107997
- When multiple pages (sheets) are printed from Microsoft Excel, the pages are sometimes split into separate print jobs. If this happens, pages that were supposed to be sent in one email may be split into several email messages. In certain circumstances it is even possible that some pages are neither printed nor emailed.
